Montreal, February 20, 2017 In addition to the incredible number of new models and brands on showcase this year, the 2017 edition of The Montreal Motorcycle Show will host a variety of activities for riders of all levels and ages:  expert riders, newcomers to the sport and even … kids!  From motorcycle demo showcases and a riding academy for kids to ladies night, virtual riding and a wheelie simulator, visitors will be treated to several exciting surprises.

She Rides:  Ladies night reinvented

The show’s attraction-packed weekend gets off the starting line with our She Rides celebrations, beginning at 5:00 pm on Friday February 24th.  On the schedule for that night:  ½ price admission for women, as well as female-focused activities and entertainment, including a ladies'-only motorcycle draw for a brand new 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 300, courtesy of Kawasaki Canada and Deshaies Motosport Inc.  “More and more women are discovering the fun, excitement, freedom and camaraderie of motorcycling” says Bianca Kennedy, Show Manager of The Montreal Motorcycle Show. “She Rides is a celebration of these women and the perfect opportunity for any motorcycle-curious ladies to take the first step or the next step in their riding journey.”

Experience the thrill of motorcycle trials

The talented Szoke family will be "in the house" all weekend-long wowing the crowds with live trials demonstrations.  Quadruple Canadian Trials Champion Jordan Szoke will be joined by his talented wife Amy, and with a little encouragement little Wolfgang, Jordan and Amy’s 4-year old son, might also throw a leg over his mini bike and join mom and dad on the trials stage. This impressive and adorable family can’t wait to show you some awesome motorcycle tricks and skills!

The Yamaha Riding Academy:  Start ‘em young

Kids 6 to 12 can rejoice.  The always popular Yamaha Riding Academy is back for 2017.  Junior will love getting outfitted in the latest motocross gear and learning how to ride the Yamaha TT-R off-road motorcycle, in a safe and secure environment, in the company of trained and certified instructors. More than 20,000 children have learned to ride through the YRA which emphasizes safety, proper riding equipment and introductory basics such as braking, balance and throttle control. A great way to introduce kids to an amazing sport that will bring a lifetime of enjoyment, confidence and adventure.

Eye Ride:  What it feels like to ride

Another highly anticipated attraction is BMW Motorrad’s virtual reality test ride Eye Ride.  Featuring a revolutionary headset with a massive field of vision and real video footage, users can experience all of the fabulous reasons to ride:  the view, the sound, the feeling … on pavement, off-road and at the track.   Eye Ride lets you experience the thrill, excitement and exhilaration of riding.

Hangar 17: The sights, sounds and smells of freedom and independence

In collaboration with Oneland Magazine, Hangar 17 is a community of builders, craftsmen and motorcycle fanatics, united by a shared passion for the road and a love for everything two-wheels.  Step into Hangar 17 where authenticity, inspiration and creativity rule.  Pull up a stool, connect with builders from the local custom scene and share stories from the road.  Builders and brands include Clockwork Motorcycles, Speedbird Motorcycles, Les Loups MC, Hardcore Cycle, First Line Motorcycles and many more.

Wheelie Force: Coming of the ground

Fun is on the menu at the Quadpro Motosport booth where you’ll be able to “pop a wheelie” on the wheelie simulator, straddling a 100% electric Zero motorcycle that delivers an impressive amount of power coupled with environmental harmony.
